Energy Resource

Active solar energy systems use an array of solar collectors that absorb sunlight to produce low and medium temperature thermal energy, primarily for application in the building sector. The amount of useful thermal energy produced by an active solar energy system depends on the size of the system, the physical characteristics of the components, the insolation available, the ambient weather conditions, and the size and timing of the load or demand for the energy. Because most active systems use collectors that do not concentrate the insolation, they are able to U3e both the direct (beam) and indirect (diffuso) eolar radiation. The maximum intensity of solar energy at sea level is approximately 3.60 MJ/hr-m2, and the amount of solar energy that falls on one square metre ranges from about 2.8 to 9.4 GJ/year depending on the location.

Global warming is a huge problem which will significantly affect every country in the world. Many people all over the world are trying to do whatever they can to help combat the effects of global warming. One of the ways that people can fight global warming is to reduce their dependence on non-renewable energy sources like oil and petroleum based products.
